This is a season of fasting.

Ramadan and Lent. This is a season of fasting. Ramadan began Tuesday night, the 17th, and Lent begins today with Ash Wednesday.

From the Freedom Fast, we invite you to pause, reflect, engage, and find ways to serve or do acts of kindness.

Regardless of your religious tradition or practice, reflecting on what it is you are prepared to sacrifice to achieve a greater good is always a healing moment in community. It is not complicated.

How will you engage in this fast or this season of joy, purpose, and meaning? You don't have to shout it from a mountaintop. It may be very personal.

I'm looking for an opportunity to heal several relationships fractured by the politics of our day. If you fast, let me know what it is you do to honor the season called Ramadan or Lent.

Both Lent and Ramadan create anticipation.

What does God or Allah want from us for a heart prepared to be obedient in seeking ways to serve?
