American History Values

That is in our DNA, and it is a process that we have continued to resurface periodically.

Whether it is the emancipation of slaves, the empowerment of women, the right to vote, or the right to organize in labor unions, periodically in American history, we have had to remember where we started.

So, to me, it was important, as we approach the two hundred and fiftieth anniversary, to connect this value system, one that helped shape us and start us off as a nation, to where we are and to influence what we do today.

If I can get people in a room who come from different backgrounds, different walks of life, and different belief systems to begin talking to each other, to have a conversation, and to be less polarized in the process, then I will feel this is a successful initiative
